In digging your own personal brand of authentic, one step is to explore your own goals and missions. By looking at your career on a larger scale in this way, you get a new perspective that gives you the guidance needed to be more authentic than the inside out. That, in turn, ensures that you will be personally met by your daily work. Therefore, many careers and employers really think deeply about their mission in life.
Of course, we all tend to think this way when some big crisis happens or when we lose our jobs and are forced to reevaluate our goals. But I do not believe for a moment that the majority of professionals ponder this important component for the important process of defining their image and create their personal brand.
But unless and until you learn your own goals in life and understand what your mission is for the world, it is difficult to produce a brand image that truly authentic, truly resonates with who you are. While this type of exercise requires a little soul-searching - and a challenge for some of my clients - this is one of the most valuable process for mapping your career based on the bigger picture. Those who successfully engage in this type of self-discovery processes and branding professionals reap the benefits far into the future, and they are usually the people who we remember for what they do for others and giving to the world.
I recently attended the Atlanta show "Princess Diana: A Celebration," and while there it became very clear to me that the lady knew exactly what her mission in life. He deliberately and harnesses the power of authentic and celebrity status to influence others positively and really help the cause that meaningful to him. Apart from the fact that many people with fame and wealth to waste that opportunity because they have no direction or purpose, Diana loved his mission and as a result he left a remarkable legacy.
I was very moved by the pictures he was holding the hands of people who live with diseases such as leprosy and AIDS - when the patient was avoided by others. When the photos first announced it was surprising the international media. There he was, for the entire world to see, a daughter who knows the power of touch and uses it to convey to the world that the disease is not contagious.
At the same time he gives examples showing that human compassion and empathy can be contagious in a positive way and healing. Visiting the sick is one of humanity's task. his personal mission to help others is often difficult and fashion, but he's still excited about them. Despite being a highly visible member of the royal family, he still understands how to give and care on an international platform - and he used his time, wealth and other resources to further its mission.
Here are three concepts of personal branding we can all learn from Diana:
Know Your Destination
To begin to discover your personal brand, we first look at the larger vision for your life. Why are you here, and what you want to view possible for the world? How can you harness the power of "one" to influence the philanthropic causes? Both career and employers can get involved in something they are interested. If you are a professional and you want to feed the hungry around the world, then get behind the project will be a great world hunger. If you work in corporate environments, you can volunteer to organize quarterly food drives and make donations on a bigger platform to engage your colleagues. An entrepreneur who can donate percent of product revenue, book sales, or event booking for the mission of hunger in the world and let people know that they support the cause. Leverage your sales while letting people know that you have a heart and want to be part of something special and charity. This gives people see your philanthropic side. We all want to know that people give back to their communities, especially in the difficult time when our fellow human beings may be worst than we are. Diana really knows the purpose and take risks that could damage his reputation among the royal family - but it calls her authentic.
Understanding the causes you to Chart your path
If you have a difficult decision to make or suffer career setbacks, has the look of the bigger picture helps. If you lose your job, for example, but be aware of what you want to see happening in the world, then you are more likely to seek and find other jobs that really fills you to help you realize this dream bigger. You may decide to go to work or working for a nonprofit organization that involvement of human values. When I worked at Macy's, for example, we can volunteer through the "Partners in Time" activity to work on Habitat for Humanity house or make valentine cards for the elderly in nursing homes. Although we all live busy, as we also know that once we help our neighbors better appreciate all that we have. We know that just one person does not have the power to change the lives of others. Diana platforms leverage his celebrity to achieve its goals to raise money and awareness for charitable causes, and to voice support for people in need.
Keep Your Vision Alive
Yes, we are all very busy these days and is sometimes found that a balance of work and pleasure or career and personal life can be difficult. But it is important to maintain your vision for the living world. You do not need to donate millions of dollars to the organization feel that your goals are developed - you just need to do a little here and there. We will leave a big gift for the famous and wealthy benefactors like Oprah or Bill Gates - who are really in the bag. It's part of their personal brand and mission. They took the stand to back the cause of their choice and efforts to the market every chance they get. If you can think of a way to involve others in giving their time through the project at the church, donating one hour a month on a charity board, or finding ways to give through your business - you will feel more authentic in your brand message. Tell people why the cause is important to you. Ask them what caused them to love and want to support. This allows you to respect and contribute to their personal mission when you give back in a way that is authentic, says volumes about your photos. If you have a large client and know their greater vision for this world, then that is a great opportunity to contribute to their cause - versus sending them a holiday gift or referral fee. He told them that you're thinking outside the walls of offices and support the mission and goals with a personal way.
Diana Spencer's brother is keeping the memory alive by supporting the current exhibition, so we should not forget that while the Diana Princess of Wales - a passion he had almost all of humanity with a generous heart.
I hope that all will be thinking of you a greater purpose in life. That's why we're all here. None of us want to look back over our lives or careers and realize that we never really find our personal brand mission. Seek and find you and leverage for your career or business with an authentic manner that conveys the image that you give back to the larger community - outside of your personal and professional life.
