An Advertising Sales Director to develop, decide, implement, regulate and manage the company's advertising strategy, both from a business sale and point of view. Is the job of an advertising director to make future sales projections, estimates and budgets for advertising related to the sale. Ad directors often work in harmony with the marketing and public relations department. They develop and manage a variety of strategies relating to the promotion and advertising of products or services.

Most directors do not enter the world of advertising working at the executive level. They must work their way up through the ranks of the advertising world to the level of director. Some even started as an advertising sales agent, assistant, market researcher or analyst and gradually work their way up to the position of account executive or manager before it reaches the level of director of advertising.
